Ministry of Education concludes the Educational Tools Caravan Initiative in its First Edition

HE Prof. Dr. Abdullah bin Khamis Ambosaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Education, patronized on Tuesday morning the closing ceremony of the Educational Tools Caravan initiative in its first edition, which included (6) governorates, namely: (Muscat, Al Batinah South, Al Batinah North, Al Dakhiliyah, Al Buraimi, Al-Dhahirah), and organized by the Directorate-General of Curriculum Development, represented by the (Educational Technologies Department). The closing ceremony took place at Khasab Hall at the Ministry’s General Diwan’s Theater.

The ceremony began with a speech by the Directorate-General of Curriculum Development, delivered by Dr. Sultan Al Kindi, Assistant Director of the Directorate-General of Curriculum Development for Educational Resources, in which he said: “The initiative included the implementation of a mobile exhibition of educational tools between (3) stations, to display the Ministry’s latest productions of educational tools, and to highlight the innovations of the educational field in the various academic subjects. The activities accompanying the exhibition included (32) different events that varied between seminars and workshops in the field of using modern technologies in the production of innovative educational tools. The first stop was in Muscat Governorate, with the participation of schools from Muscat Governorate and schools from South Al Batinah Governorate, for a period of three days. Then the caravan moved to North Al Batinah Governorate, with the participation of schools from North Al Batinah Governorate and schools from Al Buraimi Governorate. The caravan concluded its activities in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate with the participation of schools from Al Dakhiliyah Governorate and schools from Al Dhahirah Governorate. The caravan witnessed, in its three stations, a large turnout of teachers and parents to visit the exhibitions and the activities accompanying them, as the number of visitors and participants reached (28,400).”

Al Kindi added: “The initiative came as an important step that contributes to encouraging those working in the field of teaching tools, including tools specialists and teachers, to communicate, cooperate, and exchange experiences, and motivating them to innovate and be creative in producing low-cost educational tools and

highlighting these efforts, in addition to displaying the latest productions of educational tools that the Ministry provides for the educational field and other goals that contribute to achieving the goals of education within Oman Vision 2040. The total number of educational tools produced in the three stations reached (1466) educational tools. The main technical committee and the supervising technical teams evaluated these participating works according to specific technical standards and foundations. The best ones were selected and (255) works were displayed in all the stations to be educational tools related to the educational process, consistent with the needs of the curricula.”

After that, Dr. Muzna Al-Gharibi, teacher at Zainab School for Basic Education (6-10) in Muscat Governorate, delivered the honored teachers’ speech, in which she said: “This initiative has opened wide doors for us to exchange experiences and learn about the latest findings in the world of educational tools, through the mobile exhibition that brought together an elite group of teachers’ creativity at each station of the initiative, which focused on employing local environmental materials in producing innovative educational methods, which enhances the value of sustainability. It also focused on integrating modern technical devices and programs with tangible means.”

A visual presentation, then, was presented about the idea of the initiative, its preparatory and implementation stages, the mechanism for evaluating projects and the committees participating in the evaluation, and the three stations in which the Ministry’s latest productions of educational tools were presented, and the innovations of the educational field were highlighted in various academic subjects, in addition to the activities accompanying these stations.

A number of models of distinctive educational tools were also reviewed at each of the three stations, including: the “Powers” tool by the teacher, Fatima Al-Fari from Umm Habiba School for Basic Education (9-12) in South Al Batinah Governorate, and the (Chemistry Creative Bag) tool by teacher Sarah Al-Ghaithi, from Al-Istiqama School for Basic Education (1-12) in North Al-Batinah Governorate, and the (model of the layers of the atmosphere) tool by teacher Nasiba Al-Amiri from Surur School for Basic Education in Al-Dakhiliyah Governorate.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, HE Prof. Dr. Abdullah bin Khamis Ambosaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Education, the patronage of the occasion, honored the main and technical committees and the supporting companies, and honored (24) distinctive educational tools by teachers participating in the six educational governorates and participating in the Educational Tools Caravan initiative - Innovate and Communicate in its first edition. Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Kindi, Assistant Director-General of the Directorate-General of

Curriculum Development for Educational Resources, presented a souvenir to the patronage of the occasion.
