The Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate-General of Education in North Al Batinah Governorate, and Vale Oman Iron Ore Pelletizing Company LLC signed, yesterday, Monday, morning, a support agreement to provide some educational tools for fifteen schools. The agreement was signed by HE Majid bin Said Al-Bahri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Financial and Administrative Affairs, and Nasser bin Sulaiman Al-Azri, CEO of the company, in the presence of Saif Al-Ghafri, Assistant Director-General of the Directorate, Ahmed Al-Sanani, Director of Information Technology Department at the Directorate, Abdullah Al-Saadi, General Manager of Administrative and Institutional Affairs at the company, and Wael Al-Dhahli, Government Relations Expert at the company. The signing of the agreement took place at the Ministry’s General Diwan.
The agreement comes with the aim of enhancing the use of technology in the school environment, and supporting the governorate’s schools with educational materials that contribute to raising students’ academic achievement.
HE the Undersecretary for Financial and Administrative Affairs stated: “Within the framework of the Ministry’s interest in employing technology in the educational process for its positive role in supporting and developing education, and providing students with a lot of information, knowledge, and skills in a short time, through modern technical methods, and based on the principle of partnership between the Ministry and the private sector institutions, comes the signing of this agreement with the company to provide a number of technical devices, represented by interactive screens, tablets, robot bags, etc. It is hoped that they will contribute to creating a developed and more interactive educational environment between the teacher and the learners, by activating the role of participation between the teacher and the learners, diversifying the experiences provided to the learners, and helping them to practice solving the systematic thinking process, developing their linguistic wealth, positive trends, and inclinations, and building concepts, in addition to its role in developing teachers’ skills in using technical devices and tools in the education process. We extend our sincere thanks to the company for its kind and capable efforts and support to the Ministry in this field, because of its great impact in improving the quality of education service.”
The CEO of Vale Oman Iron Ore Pelletizing Company explained, saying: “Our partnership with the Ministry came out of our responsibility to support our emerging youth, and to contribute to developing their talents by providing them with the necessary means to learn, excel, and expand their horizons, by integrating technology into the classroom and enabling it to be an integral part of the education system. We are not only developing the teaching method, but also preparing young people to be better able to adapt to the changes of our digital world.”
