The Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate-General of Educational Supervision “Human Sciences Supervision Department,” held yesterday (Tuesday) morning a preparatory meeting to implement the second phase of the induction program for new teachers for the academic year 2023/2024, which targeted (20) general supervisors and heads of supervision units of study materials. The meeting took place at the Sohar Hall at the Ministry’s General Diwan.
Dr. Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al Ramahi, Chairman of the Committee for Managing and Implementing the Induction Program for New Teachers for the academic year 2023/2024, headed the meeting which discussed what was accomplished in the first phase of implementing the program, and the mechanism for implementing the plan for the second phase. The second phase is planned to be implemented this September online (remotely) via the (Teams) platform. During the meeting, the timelines for the implementation were reviewed, by setting one day for each subject separately and during which presenting the most important specialized topics that the new teachers need in their specialty.
It is worth noting that the induction program for new teachers for the academic year 2023/2024 aims to form positive attitudes towards the teaching profession, providing teachers with knowledge, attitudes, and job skills to prepare them towards the practice of teaching, in addition to introducing them to educational developments in the education system, and arousing their motivation towards the teaching profession.
