The Ministry of Education signed an agreement with Al Suwadi Energy and Al Batinah Energy, this , to finance a number of innovative educational projects, namely the “Interactive Screens Project, the Green Schools Project, the Integration Classes Project, and the STEM Oman Project” for the year 2024. The agreement was signed by HE Majid bin Said Al Bahri, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Rawahy, CEO of Al Suwadi Energy, and Saud bin Hamad Al Waili, CEO of Al Batinah Energy.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Shanoona Al Habsi, Assistant Director-General for Special Education at the Directorate-General of Special Education and Continuous Learning, Dr. Huda Al Dairi, member of the main committee for the management of the Green Schools Project, members of the Initiatives Support Committee, and Hamdoun Al Rashdi, Social Affairs Officer at the two companies. The signing of the agreement took place at the Ministry’s General Diwan.
The agreement aims to improve and develop the learning environment, enhance the educational process, and enrich the knowledge system of students, as well as to improve the services provided to students.
HE the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Administrative and Financial Affairs stated: “In line with the educational policy that emphasizes the need to cooperate with private sector institutions to contribute to the development of the educational process, the development of its resources, the improvement of services provided to students, and their periodic evaluation; with the aim of developing and overcoming educational difficulties, and facilitating students’ access to appropriate services, and the desire of the two companies to harness part of their resources, this agreement was signed to finance these projects, which aim to achieve a number of goals and objectives that will improve student participation and interaction with educational materials, raise their awareness of environmental issues, achieve sustainable development, prepare students with special needs, and qualify them to deal with others in an environment that is closer to society, and link education to daily life, by combining basic educational subjects “mathematics, engineering, science, and technology” and linking them in an integrated manner and creative ways.”
The CEO of Al Suwadi Energy Company said: “The company has been cooperating with the Ministry of Education to implement projects that serve our students and hone their skills for a better and prosperous future for our country, as the relevant committee in the ministry has excellent proposals for projects that have purposeful educational effects, and these projects that are planned to be implemented send many educational messages to students. The Green Schools Project directs them towards environmental conservation and agricultural development, connects them to the surrounding environment of plants, and develops in them the behavior of rationalization in the consumption of electricity and water and other educational messages. The integration classes project is of great importance in caring for groups that need special care, and this step has a great societal impact. As for the interactive screens project, it plays a major role in the educational process, as it helps the teacher to deliver the educational message to students in a better way. We extend our thanks to the Ministry of Education for giving us the opportunity to serve our society in a better and more efficient way.”
